Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions
This seminar accompanies the lecture on Renewable Energy and will provide particularly interested students with the opportunity to give an own presentation on a special topic of particular relevance. A list of potential topics includes energy distribution and smart power grids, technical realization of high volume energy storage, physics of the sun, nanostructures for efficient energy conversion, etc.
By successful participation in the module the students can
- use and critically evaluate the basic methods of web-based literature and information retrieval
- condense primary knowlegde from scientific papers into a presentation and optimize their own presentation skills
- aquire additional in-depth knowledge about imprtant topics in the field of renewable energies.

Learning and Teaching Methods
Preparing and presenting a 30-45 min scientific talk, beamer presentation, discussion with advisor and audience, individual literature studies and evaluations
Power point or pdf presentation materials, complementary literature and web-based information
Specialized literature to the individual topics of the seminar talks will be provided, complemented by an active own literature search of the students.
Description of exams and course work
In the course of the seminar each student individually prepares a talk on a topic of current research. Based on this talk the learning outcome is tested.
There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
Current exam dates
Currently TUMonline lists the following exam dates. In addition to the general information above please refer to the current information given during the course.
