PH1308 is a semester module in German or English language at Bachelor’s level and Master’s level which is offered every semester.
This Module is included in the following catalogues within the study programs in physics.
- Catalogue of student seminars for nuclear, particle, and astrophysics
- Catalogue of student seminars for Applied and Engineering Physics
If not stated otherwise for export to a non-physics program the student workload is given in the following table.
|Total workload||Contact hours||Credits (ECTS)|
|120 h||40 h||4 CP|
Responsible coordinator of the module PH1308 in the version of WS 2010/1 was Lothar Oberauer.
Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions
Seminar talks by students on current topics of detection in the astro-particle physics.
In the summer semester 2016:
Gravitational waves, P. Strobl, 23.5.
Cosmic micro-wave background and the Planck mission, M.R. Stock, 13.6.
Next generation neutrino detector JUNO, S. Sebold, 20.6.
Direct dark matter search with CRESST, M. Schwarz, 27.6.
Indirect dark matter search, T. Ortmann, 4.7.
Solar neutrinos, P. Landgraf, 11.7.
Supernova physics, A. Mate 11.7.
Super-massive black holes, K. Mehrgan, 13. oder 14.7.
Atmospheric neutrino oscillations, K. Urban, 13. oder 14.7.
After successful participation in the module the student can
use the basic methods of literature retrieval, condense their knowlegde from scientific papers into a presentation and obtain presentation skills.
They have learned about detectors and detection technics in the astro-particle physics.
Basic knowledge of nuclear-, particle-, and astro-physics (KTA)
