Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

During the Master seminar the students is in preparation for the topic of the thesis. It allows to increase knowledge in a further specialization. The students gets an overview of current research topics in the field he intends to carry out his master's thesis.

Learning Outcome

After the Master seminar the student is able
1) to classify its intended master's thesis in the field of research,
2) to know various methods of its subject area and their advantages and disadvantages.

Preconditions

Theoretical physics, relevant for the respective subject, from the catalog,
at least four of the six special modules,
advanced lab course

Module Exam

Description of exams and course work

During the Master seminar the students are involved in a research group. The review and advancement of students progress is done by meetings and discussions with the advisor and the members of the working group.
A talk given by the student in the institutes completes the evaluation.
