Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

During the Master seminar the students are in preparation for the topic of the thesis. It allows to increase knowledge in a further specialization. The students get an overview of current research topics in the field they intend to carry out the master's thesis.

Learning Outcome

After passing the Masters Seminar, students are able

  •  to understand the current state of art of the research in a limited field.
  •  to evaluate the position of his intended Master's thesis in the field of research,
  •  to analyse different methods from its research area and their possibilities (advantages and disadvantages).

Module Exam

Description of exams and course work

During the Master seminar the students are involved in a research group. The review and advancement of students progress is done by meetings and discussions with the advisor and the members of the working group.
A talk given by the student in the institutes completes the evaluation.
