Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

This lecture is aimed in particular at engineering students and is intended to provide a basic understanding of industrial property rights. The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the most important industrial property rights, i.e. patent, trademark and design, and to deal in depth with the topics of obtaining, defending and enforcing a technical property right using the example of the patent. The lecture also covers the topics of copyright law, customs regulations, due diligence in Mergers & Acquisitions.

Learning Outcome

The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the most important industrial property rights, i.e. patent, trademark and design, and to deal in depth with the topics of obtaining, defending and enforcing a technical property right using the example of the patent.
