Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions
Content
The lecture includes: System definition, mathematical and conceptual foundations, modeling and simulation of systems, system optimization by linear and dynamic programming, evaluation methods, foundations of decision theory and systems engineering management. Furthermore, methods for planning, monitoring and executing projects with respect to technology, time and cost are covered. The various methods are illustrated and verified in exercises with examples from the aerospace sector, general mechanical engineering, transportation systems and safety engineering.

Module Exam
Description of exams and course work
A non-programmable calculator and a dictionary for foreign students are permitted as aids.
Current note in view of the restricted attendance due to the CoViD19 pandemic: If the framework conditions (hygiene, distance rules, etc.) for an attendance examination are not available, the planned examination form can be changed to an online-based written or oral distance examination in accordance with §13a APSO. The decision on this change will be announced as soon as possible, but no later than 14 days before the examination date by the examiner after consultation with the responsible examination board.
Exam Repetition
There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
