Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions
Content
Typical designs and materials applied in lightweight structures in aerospace,
vehicles and special designs; essentials of tensor and matrix algebra and
engineering mechanics (anisotropic law of materials, principle of virtual work);
finite element methods in statics; essentials of finite element methods in
eigendynamics; typical design measures to improve structural performance in
statics and eigendynamics; basics of structural reliability; parameter studies and design steps.
The theory is highlighted with different practical examples in different fields
(aerospace, vehicles) as well as life demonstrations with a representative generic
finite element model for statics and eigendynamics analysis.

Module Exam
Description of exams and course work
Exam Repetition
There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
