Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions
Content
Technological knowledge is not enough to be successful in Industry. This lecture provides essential non-technological basics. It deals with: World market for Information and Communications Technology, mega trends, market players and forces, critical success factors in industry (small ... very large enterprise). Business Processes, company strategy, logistics, products and their life cycle, load sharing and synchronization, importance of intellectual property rights and standards,patent management. Business opportunity scanning, market analysis, business plan, feasibility study. Product management, product strategy, portfolio, innovation management, controlling, liability. Product provisioning, contracts and their traps, market introduction, preparation of production. Project and people management, planning and controlling, human factors, culture specifics, risk management.Quality assurance, Q-model ISO9000, minimum quality costs, quality management system and its certification, total quality management, EFQM. Problems (Case studies) have to be solved and presented in the tutorial, compulsory for MSCE-students .
Learning Outcome
The student will know about the managerial challenges in an ICT enterprise of today and the ususal business processes. He will have a basic understanding how to manage products, projects and quality.
