Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

Semiconducting nanodevices. Nanophotonics. Nanobiotechnology. Circuit implementations and architectures for nanostructures. NEMS (Nano ElectroMechanical Systems). Biomimetics. CMOS-based nanosystems. Hybrid systems. Autarkic System. It will be possible to work on a special nano-project, selected from a list of topics covering both experimental and computational topics.

Learning Outcome

The course will provide the basis for the simulation of nanoelectronic devices and systems, and provide practical experience on available simulation tools

Learning and Teaching Methods

Als Lernmethode wird zusätzlich zu den individuellen Methoden des Studierenden eine vertiefende Wissensbildung durch mehrmaliges Aufgabenrechnen in Übungen angestrebt. Als Lehrmethode wird in der Vorlesungen und Übungen Frontalunterricht gehalten, in den Übungen auch Arbeitsunterricht (Aufgaben rechnen).

Description of exams and course work

Modulprüfung mit folgenden Bestandteilen: - 30 Min. mündliche Prüfung/Präsentation (70%) - Benotete Hausaufgaben und Projekte (30%)

There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
