additional remarks | The importance of the laser technology for industrial production processes is significantly increasing every year. This trend can be shown by the yearly turnover gain of the laser manufacturers. For the last years the average turnover gain was annually 12.5%.To prepare future engineers for this key technology, the lecture "laser technology" considers on the one hand the physical basics of the generation of the laser-beam and on the other hand its application as an innovative tool.The basics, for example the laser beam generation, the beam-guidance and the design of laser optics, are presented by an expert of the physic department.The interaction of the radiation with different materials and the possible material treatment processes like laser-beam-welding or -cutting are presented by the iwb. Further considerations of laser security or simulation of laser processes complete the lecture.A remarkable practice relation is assured by top-class guest-speakers of laser manufacturers and users.A field trip forms the end of this lecture. |
