Further Information

Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.

additional remarks The lecture “Polymers and Polymer Technology” teaches the basics of the material class of polymers and its processing methods. The following topics, among others, are covered:• Structural design and classification of polymers• Chemical, physical and rheological properties and their effects on processibility• Established and novel polymer processing methods (injection molding, extrusion and compounding, additive manufacturing, fiber-forming techniques)• Areas of application for polymers• Test methods for polymer characterization• Degradation and recycling of (bio-)polymers• Examples of the application of polymer technologies in current research projects at the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants
