ergänzende Hinweise | This lecture gives an in-depth introduction to the electronic, optoelectronic, topological, and optical properties of nanoscale materials and low-dimensional circuits. It starts with a recapitulation of topics from solid state physics and semiconductor physics, and then, it focuses on the fascinating phenomena of quantum physics which occur at low electron numbers and dimensions: from 3D, 2D, 1D to 0D physics. The lecture equally discusses corresponding nanoscale phenomena in optics and electronics. The insights will be complemented by introducing nanoscale materials such as graphene, 2D materials, topological insulators, as well as plasmonic and excitonic materials. Finally, the lecture will highlight non-equilibrium electronic phenomena in nanoscale materials occuring on ultrafast time-scales.
