Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
||In this module, knowledge of French as a foreign language will be further developed, enabling students to communicate with a native speaker actively and with a certain degree of fluency on topics of general interest or in familiar specialist areas and to argue a point understandably. Particular attention will be devoted to the development of reading strategies for general and specialist texts, to expanding the vocabulary and to developing listening strategies. In order to consolidate speaking and writing skills, certain French grammatical structures (e.g. the passive, indirect speech, indicative/subjunctive, personal pronouns, more complex sentence structures) will be reviewed and extended. Students have the opportunity to independently prepare and deliver a short presentation on a topic connected with a French-speaking region and then to answer questions afterward. This module serves as training for the skills/proficiencies necessary to reach the level to pass the DELF examination B2 (given twice a year) at the French Culture Institute in Munich.
