One of the cornerstones of quantum information processing, communication, and sensing are nonlocal correlations known as entanglement. Surprisingly, in entanglement-breaking noisy environments there may still exist nonclassical correlations. This quantum discord can be exploited for quantum sensing applications such as quantum radar and is of fundamental interest for the ongoing development of quantum theory. In your thesis, you will investigate quantum discord of two‑mode squeezed states in a controllable noisy environment. Your project will focus on the analysis of experimental data and literature research in the framework of quantum physics. In addition you can participate in cryogenic microwave measurements on quantum discord.
